An Iranian-American trans man goes back in time to the LGBTQ+ archives to understand his sexuality. He confronts his past and present in an erotic journey of self-discovery. The film’s portrayal of identity, sex, and understanding the queer community component is powerful and deeply moving. This is comparable when interviewees talk about the uncertainty and challenges of being new and different in an established community. I found the perspectives presented on the risks facing this community to be understandable, but not in the traditional sense. I felt like the stories in this movie just showed me how to focus on issues that were hidden in plain sight. I highly recommend this movie. By learning about those around us, we learn more about ourselves. I definitely got an education through this particular movie.
